I've been seeing Dr. Anissa Hashemi-Awwal at Montclair Foot and Ankle for about two years, and she has helped me tremendously with my peripheral neuropathy. She is extremely knowledgeable, takes the time to listen, and truly cares about her patients. One of the things I appreciate most is that she's always researching new treatments and looking for better ways to help people. She uses both state of the art laser and shockwave therapy as part of my treatment, carefully monitors my progress, and explains everything along the way. I came to Montclair Foot and Ankle because I had been to other doctors and it was always the same thing. I heard that Montclair Foot and Ankle offered something new with advanced technology that could help as I have very severe Plantar fasciitis and flat feet. On my first trip there I was blown away. Firstly by how friendly the staff was and secondly on how informative Dr Anissa was with me. She understood exactly what was going on with me as soon as she examined my foot and put into plan what we would do to help my pain. I cannot adequately articulate my immense gratitude toward Dr. Hashemi patience and care she provided to my 85 year old wheelchair-bound mother. I've been practicing in my profession for over 30 years which involves direct contact with medical providers. I've never met a more knowledgeable, hands-on, compassionate medical provider than Dr. Hashemi. I highly doubt that you will find better care elsewhere.

I want to write from the bottom of my heart about the immense happiness I feel from recovering the ability to walk without pain. As a teacher, I have suffered from plantar fasciitis and numerous foot problems that were leaving me unable to walk comfortably or participate in normal physical activities. Preface to anyone reading: This is an honest review. I'm not saying nice things for the sake of just putting in a good review. I started having issues with my right ankle and just recently moved to the area. So naturally I looked for a podiatrist that was around, reputable, and not the first search result on Zocdoc. When I arrived, I immediately was blown away not only by Dr Anissa's extensive knowledge of the foot and her state-of-the-art approach towards correcting issues, but her enthusiasm, jovialness, energy, and care for her patients to be able to stop & correct the issue at its core.
